K. Alex Schneider
Burleson Police Department

K. Alex Schneider has over 13 years of crime analysis experience, specifically in police department gang units. She has extensive experience developing gang membership databases and providing intelligence for law enforcement. Her background and training in anthropology, sociology, and criminology provide a unique perspective on gang associations. She currently works with the Burleson Texas Police Department. Prior to her employment with BPD, she served as the Robbery/Gang Crime and Intelligence Analyst for the Arlington Texas Police Department. Before relocating to Texas, she worked as a gang analyst in Rochester, New York. In 2013, she received her certificate as an Expert Level Gang Specialist from the National Gang Crime Research Center. And in 2014, she became a Certified Law Enforcement Analyst. She was published in a June 2010 issue of Geography and Public Safety article titled "Using Geographic Analysis to Direct DDACTS Operations in Rochester". She has presented several times at the annual IACA Conference and the National Gang Crime Research Center.

Jon Sofley

North Richland Hills Police Department

A native of North Carolina, Jon Sofley received his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice (2003) and a Masters of Public Affairs (2005) from Western Carolina University. Upon graduation, Jon moved to Texas and accepted a job with the Austin Police Department where he worked in the Southwest, Central West, and Downtown area commands during his tenure. In 2010, Jon accepted a position with the Dallas Independent School District Police Department to create a Crime Analysis and Planning position where he is planner, analyst, and custodian of records for the department to name a few of his duties. In 2021 he joined the North Richland Hills Police Department as their new Crime Management Analyst. In this new role he is completely rebooting the crime analysis program into a data driven policing model.

His biggest duty with TXLEAN is planning and managing all TXLEAN trainings with the TXLEAN Training Committee. When he's not working, Jon enjoys seeing new and classic movies, baking, traveling and spending time with his family which includes his only child, a rescued bull mastiff/hound mixed breed dog named Sarge. Sarge's hobbies include sleeping, playing, laying on the couch, and drooling everywhere as protects the house from cats and squirrels.

Janet Hyltin

Rowlett Police Department

Janet Hyltin has been with the Rowlett Police Department since May 2009. She began her career in the Warrant Division and in 2015 transferred to CID. She has taken on many "hats" with intelligence gathering being her favorite. In 2017, the City of Rowlett was named he 8th fastest growing city in the United States, prompting the agency's need for a full-time analyst. Since 2019, Janet began creating the analyst position from the ground up and continues to learn new things every single day. Her husband is a retired police officer and they enjoy wine tasting, traveling, and spending time with family (not necessarily in that order).

Jennifer Clausen

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office

Jennifer Clausen received her Bachelor Degree in Psychology (2012) from Texas State University and a Masters of Criminology and Criminal Justice (2014) from Sam Houston State University. Upon graduation, she began her career as a volunteer Crime Analyst for the Rosenberg Police Department. In the fall of 2015, she joined the Montgomery County Sheriff's office where she has served as an intelligence analyst for the Narcotics Taskforce, the Gang Intelligence Unit, and the Real Time Crime Center.

Angie McCallister

Waco Police Department

Angie McCallister has been in the law enforcement field since 2004. She began her career in the field of forensic science after graduating from Baylor University where she worked as a Crime Scene Investigator at the Greensboro (NC) Police Department and the Waco Police Department. After sifting through the aftermath of crime scenes, she jumped at the opportunity to be proactive in fighting crime when the Waco Police Department added two Crime Analyst positions. Her background and working knowledge of Waco imparts added value in helping offer the community an enhanced quality of life.
