Alex has 13 years of experience in the field of crime and intelligence analysis. She began her career in 2008 with the Monroe Crime Analysis Center in Rochester, NY. During her time in the MCAC/Rochester Police Department, Alex was a Robbery Analyst, Supporting Gang Analyst, and Domestic Violence Analyst. While in Rochester, Alex worked on a DDACTS Project with Chris Delaney which was published in Geography and Public Safety in June 2010 (“Using Geographic Analysis to Direct DDACTS Operations in Rochester”). She also received her Level 1 Analyst Certification for the State of NY in 2010.

After serving the Rochester community for over two years, Alex took a job with the Arlington Police Department in Texas with Jim Mallard (the current IACA President). Alex assisted APD during many large events, including the World Series and Superbowl. Alex served as the Robbery/Gang Crime and Intelligence Analyst for Arlington for 6 years. In 2013, she received her certificate as an Expert Level Gang Specialist from the National Gang Crime Research Center. And in 2014, she became an IACA Certificated Law Enforcement Analyst.

Most recently, Alex has taken a job with the Burleson Police Department in Texas, where she lives. While this department is smaller than the other agencies she has worked for, it has brought many new challenges and exciting opportunities.

Alex has presented at multiple IACA conferences in the past and was the 2017 recipient of the IACA Membership Award. She has also given conference presentations for the Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts (MACA) and the National Gang Crime Research Center Conference.

Driven by her passion to help others, Alex serves as a mentor for the IACA Mentoring Program and also assists new analysts throughout DFW. Alex currently serves on the IACA Certification Committee, IACA Regional Association Committee and previously served two terms on the IACA Ethics Committee.


TXLEAN was formed in 2017 as an incorporated entity in Texas and is affiliated with the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA).

TXLEAN is an incorporated 501(c)6 non-profit organization.
